RULES

1. content restrictions: no pedophilia, rape/non-con, or bestiality. tag any/all potential content triggers outside of these properly (a list of common CW's)

2. any rating / genre / length: as long as minimum wc meets at least 747 words and is fleshed out enough to meet prompt requirements

3. no yujin rps: other background pairs are welcome, including gyubrik's romantic entanglements with others but the fic must focus on gyuvin and ricky, as this is a gyubrik-centric fest

4. no plagiarism: only submit your own work. we do not tolerate plagiarism or ai/chatgpt use and will remove your submission if it is discovered

5. no ghosting: we know unexpected developments can crop up and can work around them

• format: either a fic idea summary or certain themes / tropes you want to read. mention what you want the fic to include and avoid — your prompt will be used as a general guideline

FAQ

IS THERE A DEADLINE FOR JOINING?we've kept the sign-up period open to encourage first time writers but prompting is now over


HOW DOES POSTING WORK EXACTLY?go to prompts > claim > fulfillposting in the collection prior to reveals means your work will be hidden until then


CAN I POST WITHOUT CLAIMING?ideally, we want most participants signed up through the formhowever, the purpose of this fest is to drive up gyubrik fanworks and celebrate them as a pair. therefore, we allow outside submissions even if you haven't signed up or claimed a prompt.
as long as you have written a new fic within the submission period, and it meets our general content guidelines, we will consider it a self prompt.if you want to post a fic to the collection, search grgfest in ‘post to collections / challenges’


WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE AN AO3 ACCOUNT?prompting/claiming through AO3 requires you to have an account. we are open to submitting prompts for those that still haven't received an ao3 invitation, but the invitation typically doesn't take long, so do be sure check your email inbox periodically for the link


CAN I GET INVOLVED AS A FAN ARTIST?of course! artists can browse the ao3 collection, use our list of general tropes for inspiration, or prompt themselves. they can then tag @gyubrikfest or use the hashtag #gyubrikfest during the fest submission period with their work. nsfw art posted on twitter (if any) is allowed but should be set to sensitive. alternatively: they may also be posted on ao3refer to this ask for more infoupdate: we now have a bingo event fanartists can use to take part! check grgbingo for more

DO CHAPTERED FICS NEED TO BE COMPLETE BY DEADLINE?chaptered fics do not have to be posted all at once during submissions, WIP's are fine as long as the remaining scenes are planned and there is an intent to complete the full fic post-deadline. this means that you will be able to edit your work post submission period as many times as you like, or add chapters even after the fest is over. the intent here is just to get started somewhere.


CAN I STILL POST ON ANON?absolutely. we will, however, still have to ask if you wish for us to post a fic promotion tweet on your behalf — the same goes for private twitter accounts


CAN I WRITE SWITCH FIC?go ahead! we are only referred to as gyubrikfest on paper, this is a 귭맄귭/gyubrikgyub fest


I WANT TO DROP OUT, WHAT DO I DO?not to worry, fest sign-ups aren't binding. just make sure to unclaim your prompt if you want to drop out and note two things:1) if you're struggling for time, we can discuss extensions closer to the fest's final days as we are prioritising the current posting schedule2) if circumstances change and you want to reclaim your prompt (provided it's still unclaimed) or you want to give it another shot even after dropping out, that's fine with us too. you are no obligation to update about of this, you can simply post in the collection if you're able!


I'M PARTICIPATING IN ANOTHER FEST, CAN I CROSSPOST?yes, if the fest period overlaps with ours and you receive permission from the mods


WHERE CAN I FIND HELP TO EDIT MY WORK?put in a request for a beta reader on the @jbwfic discord server. there is a specific channel for this. if you still struggle to find a beta after this, mods can take a look for final checks


CAN I WRITE MORE THAN ONE FIC?knock yourself out! just be aware that you can only claim another prompt if you've already finished writing your first claim, but you can self prompt as many times as you want


CAN I SWITCH PROMPTS MIDWAY?yes, simply drop your claim and pick up a free prompt if you're sure you can get it completed


CAN I CLAIM A REGULAR PROMPT AND SELF-PROMPT AT THE SAME TIME?yes, as self-prompting is based on your own ideas and not an existing prompter's, you can submit as many self-prompts as you want and it is exempt from the multiple claim rule.


CAN I CLAIM AN NSFW PROMPT IF I'M UNDER EIGHTEEN?no, and please be understanding of this

I'M NEW TO FESTS AND I'M CONFUSED ABOUT THE SUBMISSION PERIODmost fests close submissions prior to reveals/postings to ensure all fics are sent in, but you will notice we've mentioned that posting begins halfway through the submission period. learning from our last run we've decided to prioritise giving participants more time to write and post even if this means fics are submitted in a slow trickle than all at once on a specific day.so while submissions open on july 4 for early completionists to put their fics in the collection, this is not the deadline itself. works submitted in the ao3 collection will be hidden, going public on july 16th. however, late fics can continue to be submitted until july 28 (anything beyond this date is an extension period, which can be requested closer to the final days of the fest)
